The inspiration behind the “Nijiiro series”
Poco a poco’s “Nijiiro” series is formed using an environmentally friendly bio-plastic called rice husk resin.
“Nijiiro” is the Japanese word for rainbow. It’s inspired by the fun range of pastel colours utilized in the series.
Let’s introduce how the “Nijiiro” series is created.
Rice husk resin and safe colouring agents are mixed to produce our 8 rainbow colours. Each colour is heartwarming and gentle.
Next, we created the blueprints, then based on those we designed the molds to be used in manufacturing. This requires precise expertise. The product mold is set into the insert molding machine, melted pellets are poured in, the liquid fills the mold and so, the shape is formed. After the melted pellets have harden the excess is cut away and the shaping is complete.
Toys made up of multiple parts are assembled securely and undergo vigorous safety checks. The excess material, which was cut away during manufacturing, isn’t wasted. It’s melted down again and recycled into pellets, ready to be reused in the next batch of toys. Beloved and worn-out toys can also be sorted by colour and recycled in the same way continuing our cycle of sustainability. This is how Poco a poco’s educational “Nijiiro” series is made.
